Analysis of 26.3 billion ad impressions reveals 18.12% global invalid traffic rate
HALLANDALE, Fla. - EntSun -- Fraudlogix, an independent ad fraud detection and IP intelligence company, today released its Q1 2026 Ad Fraud Statistics Report — an analysis of 26.3 billion ad impressions collected between January and March 2026. The report finds that 18.12% of global ad impressions showed signals of invalid traffic (IVT), meaning roughly 1 in 5 impressions delivered zero value to advertisers. Of the 26.3 billion impressions analyzed, an estimated 4.77 billion were classified as fraudulent.
The Q1 2026 rate of 18.12% represents a modest improvement from the full-year 2025 benchmark of 20.64%, established across a 105.7 billion impression dataset. The data is drawn from Fraudlogix's global sensor network, which monitors over one billion unique devices per month — approximately one quarter of the world's internet population — across 246 countries and territories.

Geography remains one of the strongest predictors of traffic quality. Indonesia recorded the highest IVT rate of any country at 59.17%, up from 53.12% in 2025. Ukraine climbed sharply from 36.40% to 53.35%. Brazil saw one of the most dramatic shifts in the dataset — its IVT rate more than doubled in a single quarter, jumping from 10.00% to 22.33%. At the other end of the scale, the Netherlands (1.02%), France (1.19%), and Germany (1.99%) continued to lead globally for traffic quality, with eight of the ten cleanest markets located in Western Europe.
Network infrastructure proved to be the most decisive fraud signal. Amazon Web Services traffic registered a 79.24% IVT rate. CDN provider Bunny Communications showed rates approaching 100%. Real users browsing the open web connect through residential ISPs and mobile carriers — not cloud servers — making cloud-originating ad impressions a near-definitive indicator of bot traffic. By contrast, major European residential ISPs including France's Free SAS and the UK's Sky Broadband delivered IVT rates below 0.15%.

On the device and OS front, desktop and mobile fraud rates converged for the first time in Fraudlogix data history — 18.60% versus 18.16% — after desktop ran 40% higher than mobile throughout 2025. iOS 18.7 recorded just 7.49% IVT, the lowest of any major OS. Android 7.x versions exceeded 70%. An unexpected anomaly: Android 14 registered 35.15% IVT, higher than the versions immediately before and after it.
