World Match Racing Tour in Long Beach - Nadine Lajoie will sing the National Anthem

EntSun - May 12, 2015 - LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach, May 12, 2015 - Long Beach Yacht Club is hosting the World Match Racing Tour on May 13-17, a World Championship Event, the 51st Congressional Cup (Concup - www.ConcupApp.com )  gathering the top sailors in the world.  Nadine Lajoie, also known as the "Champion Motorcycle Racer who sings like an angel," will perform the National Anthem before the Grand Finale on Sunday, May 17, 2015, at the Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier.  Spectators are welcome all week to watch the races, have fun and be part of this amazing event.

Chris Steele, from the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, won the Ficker Cup last week-end, against the local racer Dustin Durant from the Long Beach Yacht Club, giving both an entry to the World Tour this week.  From LBYC, Dave Wood did a great job too, finishing 4th, while Scott Dickson was watching the races from the pier, as he already had his entry to Concup when he won the sail off a few weeks agao.  The defending champion from last year and #2 in the World, Taylor Canfield said: "Concup is one of my favorite events because of the great races, hospitality and friendship we develop during the week."

Steve Steiner, the world renowned 21 year commentator for the Congressional Cup and also an ex-racer at this prestigious event for 3 years, will be entertaining and pump-up the excitement at the pier during those 5 days.  The members of the Club 100 were having their "Sponsor Dinner Appreciation" Monday night at Gladstone and 7 Angels Winery, all 3 are sponsoring the event.  Cheri Bush, the sponsorship chairman was grateful by saying: "Without the support and partnership of our sponsors, the event would not be as successful as it is today".

On Sunday, the artist and international business owner Nadine Lajoie who has performed in 5 different countries, will kick off the official race by performing the Star Spangled Banner for the participants and the crowd.
