Women Impact Network gives women leaders a home of their own, and 112 joined in 30 days
EntSun News/11105765
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - EntSun -- Women Impact Network now has its own home on the MiRAjO Hub, and in 30 days 112 women joined, growing the network 42% to 380. The Hub was built by Miranda Johnson, COO of Women Impact Network and founder of MiRAjO Collective, who has 25 years in business.
Johnson knows the Thursday stomachache before Friday payroll. She owned a residential construction company in Charleston, South Carolina, at 20, grew a trucking company to 20 trucks, and became a Florida real estate broker. She has moved money around to make a payroll week, hired help she needed before the cash flow was there by taking from herself, and watched a good month turn when a truck broke down, an employee didn't show up or a family member needed her. She did it as a mom of five daughters, a wife and now a grandmother.
"Sometimes it hurts. And you have to take a break and you have to breathe," she said. "And then you're right back up again."

In every chamber, association and network she has worked with, she sees the same devotion. The people who run them are trying to give their members the right resources and education.
"They are usually carrying all the weight of keeping it together," Johnson said. "Everyone's trying to figure out how to support their members."
When she was asked to lead Women Impact Network, she didn't want it at first. She had always wanted to work with women, and she knew it would be hard. She took it, knowing she would have to build something to do it right. "I am building while I am going," she said.
What she built takes the weight off. On the Hub, each organization gets its own network under its own name, with its events, education, messages and people in one place. Members connect and talk to each other from their first event, and Mira, the Hub's guide, keeps them moving, so the organizer stops being the entertainer. Leaders can see how their people are engaging with each other, something a directory or a dues dashboard was never built to show.

The women of Women Impact Network have made 540 connections on the Hub, 159 in the last month, and have met in person 241 times.
"Their first week looks like a breath of fresh air," Johnson said. "It looks like someone else is holding it."
Tampa Business Club, the Tampa Bay Latin Chamber and BUP INNO also run on the Hub, each under its own name. For Johnson, the Hub is step one.
"I know everybody's name. I know everybody's situation. And if I don't know, I'm about to," she said. "It isn't one. It's all."
