For more than 50 years, CONTACT of Ocean & Monmouth Counties has been a trusted source of free, confidential crisis intervention and emotional support for individuals and families throughout the community. As a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization, CONTACT provides trained telephone listeners who respond to human needs 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
CONTACT's mission is simple but impactful: to ensure that no one has to face a difficult moment alone. Whether someone is experiencing emotional distress, loneliness, grief, anxiety or a personal crisis, trained volunteers are available through the organization's 24/7 Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Hotline to listen with compassion, provide support and connect callers with valuable mental health resources and community services.

In addition to crisis intervention and suicide prevention, CONTACT offers information and referrals to local agencies that can assist with a variety of needs. The organization also provides its Senior Reassurance Calling Program, helping older adults stay socially connected through regular telephone check ins. Every service is designed to provide reassurance, encouragement and access to resources that promote emotional well-being throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties.
At the heart of CONTACT is its dedicated team of volunteers. Each volunteer completes comprehensive training to prepare them to respond thoughtfully and confidentially to callers from all walks of life. Their commitment to serving others allows CONTACT to continue providing reliable support to thousands of residents every year.
Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of age or circumstance. By offering free crisis intervention, suicide prevention services and trusted referrals to community resources.
