Warrior Homes of Collier awards $20,000 in scholarships to local veteran, veteran family members

NAPLES, Fla. - EntSun -- Warrior Homes of Collier announced four students with military ties are the latest recipients of $5,000 scholarships from the nonprofit that serves at-risk and homeless veterans in Collier County.
In addition to temporary housing solutions, Warrior Homes connects veterans and their families with educational opportunities by offering scholarships for college, vocational training or certificate courses. The organization also offers wraparound support services, such as mental health counseling, peer support and homelessness prevention.
The Warrior Homes of Collier Scholarship recipients include a recent high school graduate as well as an Army veteran who served from 1992-1994.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are:
The scholarship process, including the selection of awardees, is overseen by the Collier Community Foundation, which annually awards $1.5 million in scholarships to Collier County students on behalf of and alongside generous donors from more than 100 local organizations, including Warrior Homes of Collier.

Warrior Homes of Collier operates six Naples residences for local veterans: Alpha House, a short-term, transitional home for those in recovery from substance-use issues; Delta House, a supportive housing complex with 10 apartments for up to 20 veterans; as well as Bravo, Charlie, Echo and Foxtrot Houses, which provide long-term supportive housing for veterans. A seventh residence, Zulu Project, is slated to open in the fall.

- Aaron Abreu, a Lely High School graduate. He is currently studying aviation business administration at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. The son of an Army veteran and grandson of a Marine, Abreu is an Army ROTC member who, after graduation, hopes to serve in the military as a commissioned officer.
- Ayden Abreu is a 2024 Lely High School graduate. He is pursuing a 2nd Lieutenant commission through ROTC at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He is majoring in aeronautics and minoring in homeland security and military science. He hopes to earn an Active-Duty slot as an Aviation Officer and fly in special operations.
- Loren Lichi is a graduate of Naples High School. She is currently a student at the University of South Florida majoring in business management. Her father was deployed to Iraq and worked as a physician with the Veterans Administration for 15 years.
- Adam Stanbro served in the Army from 1992-1994. He is currently enrolled at Florida Gulf Coast University pursuing a degree in social work. Ten members of his family have served in the military, including his father and both of his grandfathers.
