Unifying to Support LGBTQIA+ Youth and Their Human Rights
EntSun News/10999498
WASHINGTON - EntSun -- We are celebrating and commemorating PRIDE Month in the United States by turning the spotlight on helping LGBTQIA+ youth build positive youth identities, calling for economic equity, and advocating for human rights. Guest advocate and lawyer Nandini Tanya Lallmon leads us in a thoughtful discussion on advocacy and shares insights into the challenges of campaign reform.
It is not unusual for a company to dodge public endorsement of LGBTQIA+ reform while privately supporting campaigns. Lallmon explains that therein lies the double-edged sword. "It would have been great if you could support me openly...It would bring so much more credibility to my cause. This is where the problem lies. There's still nowhere for us to go when it comes to advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and erasing the stigma that's attached to it," Lallmon says.
