This Woman Knows awards August 2025 microgrant to founder of C Love Foundation

HOUSTON - EntSun -- This Woman Knows (TWK), a storytelling platform and microgrant initiative uplifting women entrepreneurs and creatives, has awarded its August 2025 microgrant to Alysia Joy Powell, founder of the C Love Foundation.

Powell's work centers on building awareness around overlooked and underrepresented careers in film and media. Through the C Love Foundation, she is creating a pipeline of opportunity—offering mentorship, education, and inspiration to help future creatives dream bigger and access the resources they need to thrive.

"This honor means everything," Powell said. "My goal is to provide a pipeline and awareness of the other careers in filmmaking, while offering a diverse perspective that's often overlooked. This award will go towards the administration fees of building our organization."

This is the third TWK microgrant awarded and is especially significant, coming during both National Black Business Month and Black Philanthropy Month—a time dedicated to celebrating the economic power and giving traditions of Black communities during the month of August.

Grant cycle update

Beginning September 2025, TWK will transition to a bimonthly grant cycle for the remainder of the year:

• September/October applications will be accepted through Oct. 31, 2025
• November/December applications will be accepted through Dec. 31, 2025

Winners will be announced at the start of the following month. This new cycle allows TWK to continue offering intentional support while sustaining the growth of the grant program.
