Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Three To State Independent Living Council

~ Austin, TX- Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the reappointment of three individuals to the State Independent Living Council. Dana L. McGrath, Patrick Sturdivant, and Tiffany Walker will continue to serve on the council until October 24, 2028.
The State Independent Living Council is responsible for developing the State Plan for Independent Living and providing guidance and resources to state and local organizations on issues related to independent living for individuals with disabilities.
Dana L. McGrath, from Austin, brings a wealth of experience to the council as an associate commissioner at the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. She is also a dedicated volunteer with the National Charity League. McGrath holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Rice University and a Master of Arts in Public Policy from George Washington University.

Patrick Sturdivant, hailing from San Antonio, is a vice president and principal strategy consultant with Deque Systems. He also serves as a board member for Vibrant Works (formerly known as San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind). Sturdivant holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from St. Mary's University.
Tiffany Walker, also from San Antonio, is the chief mission officer for Vibrant Works and a licensed professional counselor. She volunteers her time with SJRC Texas (formerly known as St. Jude's Ranch for Children). Walker received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lamar University and her Master of Arts in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University.
These three individuals bring diverse backgrounds and expertise to the State Independent Living Council and will continue to make valuable contributions towards improving independent living opportunities for individuals with disabilities in Texas. Their reappointments demonstrate Governor Abbott's commitment to ensuring that all Texans have access to resources that promote independence and inclusion within their communities.
