Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Roy To TexNet Technical Advisory Committee

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Baishali Roy, Ph.D. to the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee. This appointment is for a term that will expire at the pleasure of the Governor.

Dr. Roy, who hails from Katy, brings a wealth of experience to the committee as a global geophysical advisor at ConocoPhillips. She is also a life member of the Society of Exploration Geophysics and an honorary member of the Geophysical Society of Houston. Additionally, she is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and currently serves as the Fiber Optics Committee Director.

With her extensive background in geophysics, Dr. Roy will play a crucial role in advising the Bureau of Economic Geology on funding usage, including the TexNet Seismic Monitoring Program and collaborative research relationships with other universities in Texas. She will also assist in preparing a status report for the Governor and Legislature.

Dr. Roy holds an impressive educational background, having received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and her Doctorate in Geophysics from Western University.

The TexNet Technical Advisory Committee is fortunate to have Dr. Roy on board and looks forward to her contributions towards promoting economic growth through responsible energy development in Texas.
