Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Franklin To 513th Judicial District In Harris County

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Jacqueline Franklin as the new Judge of the 513th Judicial District Court in Harris County. This appointment will be effective from September 1, 2026, and her term will expire on December 31, 2028, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Franklin, a resident of Bellaire, brings a wealth of legal experience to her new role. She is currently an attorney at Fanaff, Gonzales, Baldwin & Cunningham and has previously worked at Linda Villarreal and Associates and Fancher & Neblett, LLP. She also served as an assistant district attorney for the 105th Judicial District in Nueces County.

A dedicated member of the legal community, Franklin is a member of the State Bar of Texas and has been involved with organizations such as the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the Corpus Christi Bar Association. She was also a former president-elect of the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers Association.

In addition to her professional achievements, Franklin is also actively involved in her community. She volunteers her time as a member of the Parent Teacher Organization at her child's school.

Franklin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Public Policy from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctor from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Her extensive experience and dedication to public service make her well-suited for this new role as Judge.
