Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Latest Slate Of Appointments

~ Governor Greg Abbott has made several appointments and reappointments this week, selecting qualified individuals to serve on behalf of the people of Texas.
Among the appointments, Jody Anderson, Kimberly "Kim" McRae Childs, Ph.D., and Thomas Murphy have been reappointed to the Angelina and Neches River Authority Board of Directors. Anderson has also been named as the president of the Board. Their terms are set to expire on September 5, 2029. The Board is responsible for managing and operating in the valleys of the Neches River and its tributaries.
In addition, Governor Abbott has reappointed Rachel C. Bowden, Cynthia D. Lee, Ed.D., and Allison P. Wilson to the Early Childhood Intervention Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. He has also appointed Rebeca Ciesielski, Susana Perez, and Jennifer Villarreal, Ed.D., as well as Mandy Young and Representative Alan Schoolcraft to the board for terms set to expire on February 1, 2029. The Committee advises the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Division for Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) Services on policies related to the statewide ECI system.

Furthermore, Governor Abbott has reappointed Gilbert "Gil" Burciaga, Marcella Burke, Brad Curlee and David Eyler to the School Land Board for terms set to expire on August 29, 2027. The Board is responsible for managing the acquisition, sale, and mineral leasing of lands that contribute billions of dollars each year to public education in Texas.
The Governor has also made appointments to various advisory committees including Don Frazier, Ph.D., Greg Sindelar and Ernesto Rodriguez III who have been appointed or reappointed to serve on the Texas 1836 Project Advisory Committee until September 1st ,2027. Frazier will continue to serve as the chair of the Committee, which was established to promote patriotic education and raise awareness of Texas values that contribute to the state's prosperity.
Additionally, Governor Abbott has appointed Frank Denton and reappointed Kathy A. Powell Stewart, D.N.P., and Ron Widup to the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on August 31, 2031. He has also appointed John "Johnny" Weisman and reappointed Charlie Amato and Bill Scott to the Texas State University System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031.
These appointments reflect Governor Abbott's commitment to selecting qualified individuals who will serve the people of Texas with integrity and dedication. The Governor believes that these individuals will bring valuable expertise and experience to their respective roles, contributing to the betterment of the state.
