Tacoma: Homicide Investigation – 400 Block of East 75th Street

Tacoma Police detectives are investigating a homicide following an assault that occurred in the 400 block of East 75th Street.
On July 20, 2026, Tacoma Police officers responded to the area for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures until Tacoma Fire Department personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The adult male suspect remained at the scene and was taken into custody. Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians responded to conduct the investigation, and the suspect was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Assault in the First Degree.
Today, detectives were notified that the victim died as a result of his injuries. The investigation has now been reclassified as a homicide. Detectives will work with the Pierce County Prosecutor's Office regarding the appropriate updated charges.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to call 911.
