EntSun News/11015163
CHICAGO, Feb. 12, 2024 ~ Chicago's iconic Willis Tower was the site of a heartwarming event this past weekend as Skydeck Chicago, the observation deck on the 103rd floor, hosted its annual Valentine's Day contest, "Love on the Ledge". On Sunday, February 11, 2024, two extraordinary couples said their "I do's" while two lucky couples renewed their vows in intimate ceremonies on The Ledge, a glass floor balcony situated 1,353 feet above the city.

As Skydeck celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, this special event not only commemorates five decades of love stories but also showcases the stunning backdrop of the Chicago skyline. Four couples were selected in January to participate in this unique experience. The private ceremonies were officiated and lasted for 15 minutes each. The couples were treated to breathtaking views of the city, vibrant floral arrangements and décor. In addition to their special moment on The Ledge, they also enjoyed a romantic stay at Swissôtel Chicago the night before, a professional photoshoot and deluxe offerings such as breakfast and a champagne toast.

Among the couples who participated were Marie and Alek Slobidsky who renewed their vows to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Their ceremony coincided with Skydeck's own milestone anniversary. Another couple who renewed their vows were Stacy and Joseph (J.C.) Subida. Their love story began in high school and has flourished for 21 years. To mark their 10th wedding anniversary, they chose to renew their vows surrounded by loved ones on The Ledge.

The other two couples tied the knot in unforgettable ceremonies on The Ledge. Cody Walker and Jesse Mashburn's love story started with Cody surprising Jesse with tickets to her dream concert in Chicago. This led to many more fond memories including their wedding on The Ledge. Rebecca Reynoso and Alen Kabiljagic also exchanged vows on The Ledge. Their love story began in 2016 and has overcome challenges such as Rebecca's battle with breast cancer in 2020. They embody the true meaning of "in sickness and in health" and look forward to their future together.
