Singer-Songwriter Liz Kennedy Takes Us Out Of This World With Blast From The Past Track "Abduction"
EntSun News/10935856
With a new lyric video the San Francisco based storyteller revisits music from her 2013 album "Speed Bump".
SAN FRANCISCO - EntSun -- "Do you ever feel like you're not quite living the life you meant to live? That there might be a better one somewhere out there. One with less — gravity. My house is on a hill and the piano lives on the 3rd floor. So I'm always looking out at the sky. The daytime moon often catches my eye. Sometimes it is looking right at me, hovering. Sometimes it doesn't look like a moon at all. And I'll begin to think about leaving this earth behind. Being taken away, without a fight. I suppose this song, Abduction, is my sci-fi fantasy."
Liz Kennedy, revisits her critically acclaimed 2013 album "Speed Bump." The song, produced by Joel Jaffe, features Kennedy on piano alongside several top bay area musicians including Billy Johnson on drums, Omega Brooks on backing vocals and Jaffe providing electric guitars, drum samples programming, and keyboard bass.
After graduating from Stanford University, where she studied anthropology, journalism, and communications, Kennedy settled in the Bay Area, where she worked for film companies that made TV commercials for many years. Long before reality TV became a mainstream part of our culture, Kennedy specialized in casting real people (instead of professional actors) for commercials. She was also married and raised two children. In her later 40s, around the time she began realizing she had "songs in my head" that had never been recorded, she met Jaffe, who liked what he heard and encouraged her to take her work as a singer/songwriter more seriously. In addition to her growing catalog of recordings, she continues to perform at renowned San Francisco Bay Area hotspots including the Sweetwater, Throckmorton, Hopmonk Tavern, Angelicas, and Club Fox.
