The BEAR^® Implant preserves the knee's anatomy and landmarks by creating a protective environment where the knee can heal on its own. This helps facilitate the body's own natural healing response by supporting cell migration and proliferation. By 8 weeks post-surgery, the implant has been reabsorbed. The timeline for a full recovery matches ACL reconstruction at approximately 9 months.

Patients who opt for the BEAR^® Implant experience less surgical trauma than traditional ACL reconstruction since no grafts are needed from other parts of the body, and patients are able to maintain their ACL. Patients also experience less risk of post-traumatic osteoarthritis than with traditional ACL reconstruction, which helps reinforce long-term knee health beyond short-term stability. Ideal patients are at least 14 years of age with complete ACL tears, primarily those with a femoral side tear.
