David VanGorden encourages residents to stay informed as discussions continue around Etiwanda Heights, Hamilton Family Brewery, and city growth

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - EntSun -- Rancho Cucamonga Mayor Dennis Michael will deliver the City's upcoming State of the City address April 16th, that outlines recent progress, economic development, and future planning priorities.

As the address approaches, City Council candidate David VanGorden, who is campaigning against incumbent Kristine Scott, says many residents are taking a closer look at how ongoing development and planning decisions are impacting infrastructure, traffic, and overall quality of life in the city.

"The State of the City gives residents an opportunity to hear directly from city leadership," VanGorden said. "It also provides a natural moment to address the questions people are already discussing in the community."

Community Conversations Around Growth and Planning

Rancho Cucamonga has experienced steady growth in recent years, bringing new housing, business development, and economic activity.

At the same time, residents have increasingly been discussing how that growth is being managed and how it relates to infrastructure capacity and long-term planning.

Topics frequently mentioned in local conversations include:
  • housing development across Rancho Cucamonga
  • traffic flow and infrastructure capacity
  • the proposed Etiwanda Heights development
  • neighborhood concerns related to Hamilton Family Brewery

"Growth itself isn't the issue," he said. "The key question is how growth aligns with infrastructure and planning so that it supports the community over the long term."

Residents Seeking Clarity on Local Issues

VanGorden noted that many residents are hoping the State of the City address will provide insight into how specific local topics are being approached.

"I hope Mayor Dennis Michael addresses the situations regarding Hamilton Family Brewery and Etiwanda Heights, that residents are already talking about.:

"When people ask questions, it shows they care about their community," he added. "Open discussion helps build understanding and trust."
