Oakland's first open studio offers access to state-of-the-art equipment
OAKLAND, Calif. - EntSun -- Overcomer's with Hope (OWH) Studios announced today the opening of Liberty Hall Studios; a television broadcast digital arts studio open to the public. OWH is hosting an open house for the public to get an early peek at its resources on, August 17, 2019, noon to 4 pm at 1486 8th Street in Oakland.
The 3,000 square foot space studio at OWH has been home to a vast array of television broadcasting technology, including videotaping, recording, lighting, and a green-screen for 10 years. It will now help make local broadcast projects become a reality.
"We are very excited about our Liberty Hall Studios available for public use," said Bishop J.E. Watkins, Founder/CEO of OWH Studios. " Not only will the studio offer equipment and resources for churches, organizations to utilize, but everything is on display this Saturday to experience it up close at our open house."
With Liberty Hall Studios new status as an open studio, OWH is able to reach out more broadly to entrepreneurs and local churches which may have ideas and creative concepts that require the use of a television studio. It will be able to provide them access without exorbitant studio rental fees. Typically, studio rental rates can cost thousands of dollars but OWH is committed to keeping Liberty Hall Studios affordable by offering rates at a fraction of the market rental rate. Garvey was the founder and President of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, who occupied the OWH building during the 1930s when he lived in Oakland briefly. "It's poignant that we launch Liberty Hall Studios on Garvey's birthday," added Watkins. "In acknowledging his birthday, we're offering the community a liberating opportunity to use our studios in ways that will inform, educate, and entertain."
