Navy veteran & business consultant greg fuher calls for accountability following state investigation of pasco mosquito control district

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. - EntSun -- Today, Greg Fuher, candidate for the Pasco County Mosquito Control Board (Seat 2), demanded administrative overhauls, strict employee accountability, and operational transparency following an official state investigation into the district's compliance and chemical application standards.

According to the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the district was issued a formal Administrative Warning Letter (Agency Clerk # B63479, BLE Case # 325-488-3128 JJB) for failing to follow mandatory safety and operational procedures.

The investigation, initiated October 1, 2025, determined the district violated Florida Administrative Code 5E-13.0331. Specifically, the district treated roughly 300 acres with the chemical ReMoa Tri using truck #87 without performing the mandatory annual equipment calibration required by law to ensure public safety.

"This isn't a failure of paperwork; it is a profound failure of basic operational discipline and individual oversight," said Fuher, a U.S. Navy Veteran and business consultant. "When an agency handles chemicals across 300 acres of our community, precision and employee accountability are not optional. In the private sector, failing to calibrate mission-critical equipment results in immediate disciplinary action. In Pasco government, it takes a state investigation just to get a warning letter."

The document, received May 29, 2026, warns that further violations will subject the district to formal disciplinary action and legal penalties. Fuher noted this highlights a broader issue of an agency running on autopilot, pointing out that local politicians frequently treat these boards as escape hatches.

"Real leadership means standing your ground, holding your team accountable, and fixing problems on your watch," Fuher continued. "Too often in Pasco, politicians run away from poor decisions on one board by jumping into a race for another to escape the cleanup. You don't get to abandon your post when the state flags a violation. Taxpayers deserve to know the workforce in their neighborhoods is properly managed. On day one, I will bring my executive background to mandate a comprehensive audit of fleet maintenance schedules, employee training logs, and state compliance metrics. We are bringing private-sector accountability back."
