DENVER ~ Denver, CO - The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) has announced that the prestigious MICHELIN Guide will now cover the entire state of Colorado. This expansion marks a significant milestone in recognizing and celebrating the diverse and thriving culinary scene in Colorado.
Governor Jared Polis expressed his excitement about this development, stating, "I'm so excited that restaurants across our entire state now have the opportunity to gain recognition in the famed MICHELIN Guide! This is great for our culinary scene and our small businesses." He also highlighted the positive impact this will have on local communities, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
The MICHELIN Guide first expanded into Colorado in 2023 and currently features 50 recognized restaurants in Aspen, Boulder, Denver, and Vail. These include one two-star restaurant, eight one-star restaurants, and four green-star restaurants. With this new expansion, MICHELIN Guide Inspectors will be evaluating a wider range of dining experiences across all four corners of Colorado.
Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), emphasized the positive effects this will have on the restaurant industry and tourism in the state. "MICHELIN Guide's presence in Colorado has already elevated our reputation for culinary excellence," she said. "Today's announcement will further boost our restaurant industry, our tourism industry, and the neighborhoods and communities across the state that benefit from strong local food scenes."
