Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine to Offer Youth Summer Day Camps

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As summer approaches, the City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) is gearing up to provide local youth with a variety of fun and engaging activities through their Summer Day Camps, Aquatics Camps, and Kids Discovery Camps. These camps will run from June 15 to August 21, 2026, on weekdays. Registration for all camps will open on Saturday, April 11 at 9 a.m. and can be done online at lbcity.info/DayCamps. With limited enrollment space available, parents and caregivers are encouraged to register early.
The Summer Day Camps are designed for children aged 5 to 12 and will offer a range of activities such as games, crafts, physical fitness, and enrichment programs. The camps will run from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended care options available from 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. The cost for regular day camp is $123 per week while extended care will cost an additional $160 per week. For those who love the water, PRM is offering two Aquatics Day Camps - Belmont Junior Beach Camp for ages 5 to 7 and Bayshore Beach Camp for ages 8 to 12. These camps will also run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended care options available. The weekly cost for both camps is $176 for regular day camp plus an additional $30-60 per week for extended care. Interested individuals can find more details on the Aquatics Day Camp webpage or by calling (562)570-1888.
Nature lovers can also join in on the fun with Nature Kids! Discovery Camps where children will get hands-on experience with nature through various activities, games, and crafts. The camps are divided into preschool sessions for ages 3 to 5 at $107 per week and youth sessions for ages 5 to 8 at $125 per week. These camps will take place at either El Dorado Nature Center or Colorado Lagoon. More information can be found on the Nature Kids! Discovery Camps webpage.

Registration for all the above camps will open on April 11 and can be done online at lbcity.info/DayCamps. For those who do not have access to a computer or smartphone, PRM will also be providing self-enrollment stations at multiple park locations from 9 a.m. to noon on April 11. These locations include Bixby Park, Pan American Park, Silverado Park, Veterans Park, and Whaley Park. Customers will be responsible for completing the self-enrollment process with assistance from staff members.
Additionally, community members can also register online at any open Long Beach Public Library location with available public computer labs. The days and times may vary by location.
PRM is also offering financial assistance for Summer Day Camps on a first-come, first-served basis. More information about these programs can be found on the Youth Summer Day Camps webpage or by calling (562)570-3150.
