The Lighthouse International Film Festival draws worldwide for a showcase by the sea
MANAHAWKIN, N.J. - EntSun -- The Lighthouse International Film Festival has become one of Long Beach Island's most celebrated cultural events, drawing film enthusiasts from around the world to Southern Ocean County. Now in its 17th year, the festival continues its tradition of showcasing independent films from prestigious festivals such as Sundance, SXSW, and TIFF. As LIFF prepares to kick off its 2025 edition from June 4 to June 8, excitement builds around an exceptional lineup of films, stimulating discussions, and high-profile guests, including Emmy Award-winning actor and director Jason Alexander, who will serve as the keynote speaker.
Each year, volunteers from the festival transforms Long Beach Island into a cinematic hub, offering a diverse program that includes narrative features, documentaries, short films, and web series. The 2025 Screenings are taking place at renowned venues such as Surflight Theatre, the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts & Sciences, and Surf City Firehouse. Beyond the films, attendees have opportunities to engage in workshops, panel discussions, and networking events.

Understanding that the film festival's impact extends beyond entertainment—it strengthens outreach and supports local businesses, creating an economic boost for the region. The Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce has always played a role in promoting LIFF, helping to bring international attention to Long Beach Island and ensuring that festival passes and tickets are easily accessible at distribution locations such as the Chamber's office on Mill Creek Road in Manahawkin.
Attendees can choose from an All Access Pass for entry to any film or party, a Films Only Pass for all screenings, or individual tickets for a more flexible experience. In addition to the annual festival, the Lighthouse International Film Society offers year-round screenings for local film enthusiasts, further cementing our community as a vibrant destination for cinematic storytelling.
