EntSun News/11042994
FALL RIVER, Mass. - EntSun -- The Bristol Black Collective, in partnership with Fall River Heritage State Park, invites the community to a Free Kwanzaa Sewing Workshop celebrating the principle of Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility). This hands-on, all-ages event will take place on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Fall River Heritage State Park Visitor Center.
The workshop will be led by Carol Price, a skilled artisan, sewing/fiber arts instructor at the Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts and Director of the Big Business Network, who will guide participants in creating beautiful, Kwanzaa-inspired table runners. Attendees will learn sewing basics in a fun, supportive environment while celebrating the spirit of Ujima—working together to strengthen community bonds and solve challenges collectively.
"Our focus this year is on honoring Fall River's rich textile history while promoting creativity and unity through Ujima," said Tia Castellano, Director at Bristol Black Collective. "Carol Price's expertise and passion for community-building make her the perfect leader for this inspiring event."
