Kühler Co.'s Protect Our Black Queens Collection Will Launch At "Da Spot" In City Point Mall
EntSun News/10850461
NEW YORK - EntSun -- The SS2021 collection "Protect Our Black Queens" will launch at Da Spot NYC's newest location in Brooklyn, New York on Nov. 21, 2020. The launch event will celebrate the official collaboration between Kühler Co. and Da Spot NYC as one of the over 25 creative brands by people of color to be sold out of its boutique. The launch party will be hosted by Find Your ID NYC (https://fyidnyc.com/) and Da Spot NYC (https://daspotnyc.com/) under the creative direction of Imani Jones (https://www.instagram.com/ijonesnewyork/?hl=en).
"I am overwhelmed with the waves of support we have received in the short period of time since our launch in September. We were already invited to join two shop locations in Atlanta and have received invitations to showcase in virtual showcases and fashion pop-ups," said Jones. "As a New York native and Brooklynite, I am elated to be able to sell my collection at Da Spot NYC. I am very inspired by the collective [Michelle Cadore, founder of Da Spot NYC], Frantzy and Ty have created and am honored to be a part of their network of creatives."

Inspired by the recent victimization of Black women across America, Jones was moved to create a collection of pieces with a message. Now more than ever, it is imperative that we use every channel to spread love and the message of social and political justice. This line is intended to be "statement clothing" that empowers people to support Black women by showing them that their allies are with them, see them, hear them, and are rooting for their protection.
The collection featured six pieces of powerful images of Black women with Afro Futuristic hairstyles intended to show the diversity and uniqueness of the Black female figure beautifully illustrated by FYID NYC artist, Carrie Dugan.
"I am a feminist artist who works with the female form in my mixed-material paintings. I am happy to have had the incredible opportunity to bring my figurative style into a social justice and pop culture narrative with Kühler Co.," said Dugan.
