Idaho Falls: 17th Street Lane Closure for Utility Work June 2

~ Idaho Falls residents can expect a lane closure on 17th Street starting Tuesday, June 2, 2026. According to Idaho Falls Public Works, the closure is necessary for utility work to be conducted by Idaho Falls Power crews. The outside westbound lane between Hoopes Avenue and Balboa Drive will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in order to complete the project and minimize disruptions during the evening commute.

Motorists traveling westbound on 17th Street should anticipate minor delays and are advised to use caution while driving through the work zone. However, eastbound traffic will not be affected by the closure. Drivers are reminded to watch for crews and equipment, follow posted traffic signs, and reduce speeds in the area.
