Houston First Financial Group Launches Digital Kaizen Fellowship

EntSun News/11093427
HOUSTON - EntSun -- Houston First Financial Group is piloting the Digital Kaizen Fellowship, a mentorship-based educational initiative for highly motivated high school students interested in artificial intelligence, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, media, and modern professional work. The Summer 2026 pilot will accept up to three fellows for a 6-8 week program.

Founded by Christopher Hensley, RICP®, CES™, the program reflects a simple belief: students who show curiosity and initiative deserve access to mentorship, real-world projects, and the tools shaping how professionals work.

The fellowship was inspired by a local high school student who independently researched Hensley's work, podcast, and interest in AI-enhanced workflows before reaching out to explore mentorship opportunities. That interaction led to the creation of a more structured educational experience.

"The goal isn't free labor or passive observation," says Hensley. "It's meaningful exposure to ideas, systems, communication, and technology — in a setting where curiosity is the primary qualification."

Not a Traditional Internship

The Digital Kaizen Fellowship is intentionally different from a conventional internship. Fellows will not perform clerical work, access client information, investment accounts, planning files, or participate in regulated advisory activity.

Instead, the program focuses on:
  • AI exploration
  • Research projects
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Podcast and media support
  • Educational content
  • Communication skills
  • Voice-first productivity workflows

The pilot follows a flexible project-based structure featuring mentorship meetings, independent research, AI workflow experimentation, and reflection throughout the summer.

The fellowship is influenced by Montessori-inspired principles that emphasize curiosity, self-direction, ownership of learning, and exploration through real-world projects. Rather than simply assigning tasks, fellows are encouraged to help shape their own learning journey.

The program is also inspired by the principles of Digital Kaizen, Hensley's book exploring AI-enhanced workflows, voice-first thinking, and continuous improvement.
