"I was blitzing up the middle, and they gave a handoff in the A gap," Lesch recalls. "I just ran straight through his soul."

That level of intensity doesn't happen by accident. Before every game, Lesch goes through a dark, focused 30-minute ritual. He finds a quiet space and visualizes the opposing team trying to hurt his family, engraving that thought into his mind to unlock an elite level of on-field aggression.

Leadership in the Locker Room

Despite his intense pre-game routine, Lesch is known as a funny, uplifting presence in the locker room. He views the team space as a sanctuary, enforcing a strict rule against leaving it dirty. "It's our home," he explains, "and you don't want a dirty home."

His biggest influences are his mother and father, who taught him how to be responsible both on and off the field and how to control his temper. His father, a firefighter, serves as the ultimate inspiration for his athletic journey.

"My dad risks his life every day being a firefighter, and I just get to sit here and play a game and not really have to worry about anything," Lesch says. "That's my why."
