~ PUEBLO/COLORADO SPRINGS - Governor Jared Polis made a visit to the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum of North America in Pueblo today, which officially opened its doors on June 12, 2026. Governor Polis also took the opportunity to tour Launchpad in Colorado Springs while in Southern Colorado. Launchpad is a permanent supportive housing community consisting of 50 units for young adults aged between 18-24 years old. The community opened its doors in May 2025 and aims to provide safe and affordable housing for Coloradans with a history of homelessness.
In his statement about Launchpad, Governor Polis emphasized the importance of every Coloradan having access to a stable place they can call home. He praised the collaborative effort behind Launchpad's development and expressed his pride in seeing partners come together to provide housing opportunities for young Coloradans who need it most.
The Launchpad project is a result of a public-private partnership between developers, the PLACE organization (People Leading Active Social Change), the City of Colorado Springs, El Paso County Housing Trust Fund, the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and the State of Colorado. The state contributed $4.75 million in housing development grant funds towards the project.
Governor Polis' visit to both the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum and Launchpad highlights his commitment to supporting innovation and providing affordable housing for all Coloradans. These initiatives serve as a testament to the state's dedication to fostering a thriving community for its residents.
