~ Last night, Governor Greg Abbott was honored with the Texas Public Policy Foundation's Ronald Reagan Award for his conservative leadership and for launching the largest day-one school choice program in America. The award was presented during the annual award dinner at the Texas Policy Summit.

During his acceptance speech, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of freedom in policy and democracy. He stated that school choice is about giving parents the freedom to choose the best education pathway for their child. He also credited the passing of school choice as a victory for everyone involved, including elected officials, advocates, and parents.

The Governor highlighted the overwhelming demand for school choice in Texas, with over 270,000 students applying for Texas Education Freedom Accounts. These accounts prioritize students with disabilities and from low-income families. This milestone showcases parents' desire for more control over their children's education.
