Governor Abbott Issues Disaster Declaration For Texas Severe Weather

~ Governor Greg Abbott has taken action to protect the citizens of Texas as severe storms continue to threaten the state. In a press release issued today, Governor Abbott announced that he has declared a disaster for 101 Texas counties and may add more as conditions warrant.

According to Governor Abbott, "Texas is prepared to respond to the severe weather threats that continue to move across our state." He emphasized the importance of ensuring that local officials and communities have access to all necessary resources and support during this time of crisis.

To further aid in emergency response efforts, Governor Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to activate additional state resources and implement 24-hour operations at the Texas State Emergency Operations Center.
