EntSun News/11092329
~ In a move to support career and technical education (CTE) training programs in East Texas, Governor Greg Abbott announced today that nine schools in the region have been awarded a total of $2,524,300 in Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

These grants will help the schools purchase and install equipment to train 700 students for high-demand occupations such as automotive service technicians, registered nurses, HVAC mechanics and installers, and more.

Governor Abbott expressed his belief that investing in the workforce of tomorrow is crucial for the state's growth. He stated, "Texas is strengthening our state by investing in the workforce of tomorrow. These grants will provide students in East Texas the real-world training and technical education they need to have a successful career. The future of our state is in good hands because of the education we are providing to young Texans today."
