Gov. Kemp: Georgia Breaks Trade Records, Becomes Top 10 Exporting State
EntSun News/11085947
ATLANTA ~ Georgia Breaks Export Records for Fifth Consecutive Year, Surpassing $60.2 Billion in Exports
In a historic announcement, Governor Brian P. Kemp and the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) revealed that the state has once again surpassed its export record, reaching a total of $60.2 billion in exports in 2025. This marks a 12.7% increase from the previous year and outperforms the national average of 5.6%. With exports reaching 213 unique countries and territories, Georgia also ranked No. 7 for total trade value and No. 9 for export value in the country.
Governor Kemp expressed his pride in this achievement, stating that "Georgia has broken export records for five consecutive years, and these incredible numbers are just the latest testament to our great logistics industry and the thousands of small businesses across our state who have shown the entire world the value of a Georgia-made product." He also highlighted Georgia's expanding logistics network and workforce as key factors contributing to this success.

The top five categories for exports from Georgia were civilian aircraft and ancillary parts, computers, hardware, and storage units, motor vehicles, network communications equipment, and medical devices. Canada, Mexico, Singapore, Germany, and the Netherlands were identified as the top destinations for these exports.
GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson emphasized that Georgia is not only keeping pace with other states but is actually outpacing them in terms of year-over-year growth for trade and export values. He also noted that Georgia's move into the top ten exporting states highlights new opportunities in Southeast Asia.
In addition to exports, Georgia also facilitated over $210.7 billion in trade to 219 unique countries and territories - a 5.8% increase from the previous year that outperformed the national average of 4.9%. The top five products by total trade were civilian aircraft and ancillary parts, computers, hardware, and storage units, motor vehicles, network communications equipment, and parts and accessories for motor vehicles.

Deputy Commissioner of Trade Lizann Grupalo highlighted the role of GDEcD's Trade team in supporting exporters through hands-on assistance, customized consultations, and data-driven insights. She also noted that Georgia's international representatives in over 60 global markets played a significant role in the state's export success.
Georgia's strategic location and robust infrastructure were also identified as key factors contributing to its export growth. The state is home to the busiest airport in the world - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport - as well as the largest single-terminal container facility and third-busiest container gateway in the U.S., the Port of Savannah. Additionally, Georgia offers a strong rail and highway infrastructure with more rail miles than any other state in the Southeast. The state's inland ports also provide cost-effective and efficient options for companies moving products.
With these impressive numbers and continued investments in logistics infrastructure, Georgia is well-positioned to break even more trade records in the years to come. As Governor Kemp stated, "Georgia is well positioned to break even more trade records in the years to come."
