Galveston's Nia Cultural Center brings gospel legend Shirley Caesar, The Walls Group & Houston Mass Choir to kick off the Juneteenth holiday festivities.

GALVESTON, Texas - EntSun -- Join us for an unforgettable evening of music, history, and culture at the Juneteenth 160th Anniversary Celebration at the Grand Opera House in Galveston, Texas. The event, which marks the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth, will feature performances by gospel music legends Shirley Caesar, The Walls Group, and the Houston Mass Choir. This spectacular concert will honor the significance of Juneteenth and celebrate freedom, resilience, and unity in a one-of-a-kind musical experience.

Shirley Caesar, a living legend in gospel music, will bring her powerful voice and inspiring spirit to the stage, alongside the incredible sounds of The Walls Group and the soulful harmonies of the Houston Mass Choir. This star-studded event promises to deliver an unforgettable night of uplifting gospel music and cultural celebration.

This special concert is proudly presented by the Nia Cultural Center, a community organization dedicated to preserving and promoting African American culture. The event will take place at the Grand Opera House, located in Galveston—the birthplace of Juneteenth, where the historic news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865.
