Web app gives educators a live view of active passes without individual student accounts or software installation

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - EntSun -- A free digital hall pass system is now available for K–12 schools, offering teachers and authorized school staff a clear, flexible way to manage classroom passes from computers, tablets, and smartphones.

The web app is designed to fit naturally into the school day. Students can begin or request a pass from a shared classroom kiosk, scan a classroom QR code using a smartphone or tablet, or ask a teacher to create the pass through the teacher portal. Students can participate without creating individual accounts.

Once a pass begins, teachers can see who is currently out, the selected destination, the start time, and the elapsed duration. The live classroom view updates automatically as passes are requested, approved, started, or ended.

Teachers can use the system in their classroom, or schools can make it available across multiple classrooms. Key capabilities include:
  • Shared kiosk access from a classroom computer, tablet, or smartphone
  • Optional QR-code access through a student device
  • Teacher-created passes through the teacher portal
  • Automatic or teacher-reviewed pass approval
  • Flexible classroom and destination pass limits
  • Class-period and destination selection
  • Live views for teachers and authorized school staff
  • Detailed activity reports with filtering, sorting, and CSV downloads
  • Simple setup that allows teachers to sign up and begin using the system immediately

The web app can operate independently of a school student database. Schools may use student IDs, teacher-selected identifiers, or other classroom identifiers. Teachers can also decide whether student names are optional or required, allowing the system to be configured around each school's preferred practices.

"Schools deserve practical technology that fits comfortably into established classroom routines," said a spokesperson for the project. "The system gives teachers a clear view of active passes while providing several simple ways for students to participate. A teacher can begin with a shared classroom device and configure the experience according to the needs of the class."

Because the system operates through a standard web browser, schools do not need to install a separate desktop or mobile application. The system is designed to work with newer as well as most older computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones, allowing schools to make practical use of equipment they already have.

Teachers and school administrators can learn more and begin using the free digital hall pass system.
