Virtual Cinema Events slated for August 29 and 30. Presentation includes documentary feature, debut of "15 Years Down the Road" short and Q&A.
NEW ORLEANS - EntSun -- Food Film Music is pleased to present "One Note At a Time" with extra bonus attractions. The two day, forty eight hour virtual screenings, on August 29 and 30, focus on New Orleans musicians. The multi-award winning feature length documentary, released last month, recalls the hardships that entertainers faced after Hurricane Katrina and how they found help at the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic. Some of the featured performances and interviews include Grammy winners Dr. John and "the Soul Queen of New Orleans" Irma Thomas, Damion and Charmaine Neville, British jazz drummer Barry Martyn, jazz trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, Al "Carnival Time" Johnson, Walter Payton, Jr., The Cliff Hines Quintet, Ben Jaffe of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and poet Shelton 'Shakespear' Alexander. "One Note At a Time" was directed by British film maker Renee Edwards, whose father is a New Orleans resident. It also includes interviews with New Orleans Musicians' Clinic & Assistance Foundation co-founders Johann Bultman and President and Director Bethany Bultman.

"15 Years Down the Road" will debut during the on-line streaming event. The follow up companion short includes never before seen footage from inside the Superdome after the hurricane. Additional cast members are Delfeayo Marsalis, Felice Guimont and Cliff Hines.
Each day, at 2pm (CDT) a live Q&A will be presented. Participants currently include Renee Edwards, Bethany Bultman and guitarist/singer Chip Wilson.

Food Film Music is a storytelling showcase for films about the human experience. Founded by Donna Lefont she recently created this Virtual Pop Up Cinema to watch movies in the comfort of your own home until it is safe return to the Big Screen experience.
Additional award winning entertainment industry based films include director/photographer Bert Stern's newly restored 4K version of "JAZZ on a Summers Day." Filmed at the 1958 Rhode Island Newport Jazz Festival it features performances with Louis Armstrong, Gerry Mulligan and others and, "Mr. Soul," directed by Melissa Haizlip, about Ellis Haizlip, considered to be American's first black late night talk show host in the late 60's and early 70's.
