~ As the sacred month of Ramadan draws near, the Council has extended warm wishes to the Muslim community both locally and globally. This gesture was made through a resolution presented by Councilor Culpepper and co-sponsored by Councilors Pepén and Coletta Zapata.

Ramadan, which falls on the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is a significant time for Muslims around the world. It is observed through daily fasting, prayer, acts of charity, and spiritual reflection. This month also commemorates the revelation of the Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad and serves as a time for communal bonding, gratitude, and helping those in need. For many, fasting during this period also fosters empathy towards those experiencing poverty.
