Cryolab Guides UK IVF Clinics on Dry Shipper Selection for Embryo and Sperm Transport

EntSun News/11094398
LONDON - EntSun -- CryoStork V2, V3 and V10 matching the vessel to the actual transfer requirement rather than average transfer volume

Cryolab, the UK-based specialist cryogenic equipment supplier with over 40 years in the IVF and reproductive medicine sector, has published guidance for UK fertility clinics on selecting the correct dry shipper model for embryo and sperm transport.

The guidance identifies dry shipper selection based on average transfer volume as a common source of temperature excursion risk. The correct basis for selection, Cryolab advises, is the worst-case transfer scenario the longest journey, the highest patient load, and the most logistically demanding conditions the vessel will face.

Cryolab's CryoStork range covers three models. The V2 is suited to single-patient and courier-based transfers where compact size and low weight are primary requirements. The V3 is the standard option for routine UK inter-clinic transfers and is the most widely used model in UK fertility clinics. The V10 is designed for high-volume transfers, sperm banks, and scenarios where extended hold time is required.

All CryoStork models operate in the LN2 vapour phase. No free liquid nitrogen is present during transit, removing the IATA PI 650 dangerous goods classification applicable to liquid-phase containers.

The guidance emphasises the inversion test as the most commonly skipped pre-transfer step. Holding the fully charged vessel inverted for 10 seconds confirms the charge is complete. An incomplete charge is the most common cause of avoidable temperature excursion reported by UK fertility labs.

Cryolab is ISO 9001:2015 certified and supplies IVF clinics, fertility networks, sperm banks, NHS trusts, and research institutions globally.
