Columbia: Update: Victim dies of injuries sustained in June 15 arson fire on Paris Road

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ A tragic incident occurred in Columbia, Missouri on June 15, when Donovan Baylis, 31, was the victim of an arson fire on Paris Road. The Columbia Police Department has confirmed that Baylis passed away on July 14 due to injuries sustained in the fire. Next of kin have been notified.

According to authorities, at approximately 11:45 p.m., police were called to assist with a fire in the 1500 block of Paris Road. Upon further investigation, it was determined that an unknown suspect had intentionally set Baylis and the porch of a nearby residence on fire.

The suspect has been described as a thin, white male between the ages of 35-40, standing at approximately 6 feet tall with brown hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and a hat while riding a bicycle towards College Avenue.
