Columbia: Second interested parties meeting regarding traffic calming on Whitegate Drive to be held May 27

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia's Whitegate Drive has been identified as a problem area for speeding vehicles, according to a recent traffic study. In response, the City of Columbia Public Works department has announced plans for a second informal open house meeting to discuss potential solutions.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 from 6-7 p.m. in Room 1A of City Hall. This follows a previous meeting held on December 4, 2025 where interested parties provided feedback on the issue. Based on this feedback, Public Works staff have developed a conceptual traffic calming plan which will be available for public review and discussion at the upcoming meeting.

City engineering staff will be present at the meeting to answer questions and provide information and diagrams for public review. The conceptual plan can also be viewed on the project's website at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Whitegate-Drive-traffic-calming. Public comments will be accepted at the meeting and can also be submitted through the website until June 10. These comments will be taken into consideration as the final designs are developed.
