Columbia Police arrest suspect wanted for Kansas City homicide

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police officers were serving a search warrant on an unrelated investigation in the 2600 block of Quail Drive on March 5 when they made a significant discovery. La'Relle D. Dennis, a 24-year-old from Kansas City, was found to have active warrants for second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon in Kansas City.

According to reports, Dennis attempted to flee from the Columbia Police but was eventually apprehended without incident. In addition to the active warrants, he now faces an additional charge of felony resisting arrest by fleeing.

Dennis is also a suspect in the August 2024 homicide of a man who was found shot to death in a car on East 82nd Street in Kansas City. The Columbia Police Department is urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and contact them at 573.874.7652.
