Columbia Police arrest stalking suspect after standoff on Parkade Boulevard

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police successfully apprehended 58-year-old Brian Strickland on April 16th after a four-hour standoff at a residence on Parkade Boulevard. Strickland, who was wanted for first-degree stalking, had barricaded himself inside the home and made threats of self-harm and violence towards others. The Crisis Negotiation and SWAT teams were called in to assist with the situation.

According to authorities, Strickland was believed to be armed and dangerous. However, after hours of negotiations, he was safely taken into custody at approximately 7:45 p.m. The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
