EntSun News/11085601
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ On Saturday afternoon, a residential structure fire broke out in the 700 block of Cook Ave in Columbia, Missouri. The Columbia Fire Department (CFD) received the call at 2:57 p.m. and quickly dispatched units to the scene.

Within four minutes, CFD arrived to find a shed and a single-story home engulfed in heavy smoke and flames. Firefighters immediately sprang into action, entering the structure to search for any residents while simultaneously working to control the flames both inside and outside of the home. Due to the fire spreading to the attic, crews had to climb to the top of the structure and remove a portion of the roof for ventilation. Thankfully, they were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes.
