Colorado: Rural Jump-Start Program Helps Launch New Business in Delta County

DELTA COUNTY ~ Delta County, Colorado - In a press release today, Governor Jared Polis and the Business Funding & Incentives (BF&I) division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) announced that Pathways Services, LLC has joined the Rural Jump-Start program. This program aims to encourage economic development and job creation in economically distressed, rural counties of Colorado.
Pathways Services, a Western Slope-based consulting and direct service organization, partners with local governments, courts, and community organizations to provide evidence-based justice system solutions in rural communities. The company's founder, Leigh Anne Suppes, expressed her excitement about joining the Rural Jump-Start program. "For Pathways Services, this approval helps us invest in the people, infrastructure, and regional relationships needed to expand supportive interventions that improve stability and reduce system strain," she said.

Governor Polis also shared his enthusiasm for supporting businesses like Pathways Services that contribute to their communities through innovative justice services. "Rural Jump-Start empowers businesses, creates good-paying jobs and strengthens local economies across the state," he stated.
As part of the program, Pathways Services will receive $15,000 in grant funding to support the launch of its operations. Additionally, eligible employees will receive a state personal income tax exemption. Sponsoring entities like One Delta County play a crucial role in identifying business candidates in their communities and working with them to ensure success in both the program and the community.
Eve Lieberman, Executive Director of OEDIT, emphasized the importance of programs like Rural Jump-Start in supporting economic growth and diversification in rural areas. "The Rural Jump-Start program is a vital tool to support the goals of local communities across Colorado," she said.

Greg Pope, Director of One Delta County: An Economic Alliance also expressed his excitement about sponsoring Pathways Services' application for the program. "Rural Jump-Start is a great, state-sponsored incentive program which encourages new business to start-up, locate, grow and expand in rural Colorado," he stated. "The program has played a part in the over $133 million financial impact One Delta County has assisted with over the last five years."
