Colorado: New mural enhances Firestone-Longmont Mobility Hub
EntSun News/11085806
FIRESTONE ~ Journalist: The Firestone-Longmont Mobility Hub, operated by the Colorado Department of Transportation, has recently undergone a transformation with the addition of vibrant murals. These murals, designed by Loveland-based artist Frank Garza, aim to create a connection with the communities that the facility serves.
Garza, a Greeley native with over 20 years of experience in creating public art, has brought his unique style to the mobility hub. This is his first project at a CDOT facility and he has named it 'Connectivity' to reflect its purpose of serving a diverse range of communities.
In an interview, Garza explained that the mural pays tribute to the land, nature, and indigenous people who were present before us. It also highlights the significance of water, irrigation, farmers, ranchers, and field workers. Additionally, historical elements such as coal carts representing Firestone and a locomotive train representing Longmont have been incorporated into the design.

The Firestone-Longmont Mobility Hub offers passenger services for Bustang's North Line connecting Fort Collins and Denver, RamsRoute for CSU Campus, Bustang to Broncos, and local transit connections for RIDE Longmont. Governor Polis expressed his excitement about this project as it celebrates Colorado's history and culture while also promoting different transportation options available to residents.
Garza also revealed that the mural features a stylized version of the architecture seen when entering the Eisenhower Tunnel as a nod to CDOT's engineering accomplishments.
