Colorado: Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera Named 2026 HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award Recipient
EntSun News/11086475
LAS VEGAS ~ Las Vegas - Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, who also serves as the Director of the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care, was honored today at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas. She received the prestigious 2026 HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award in the Policy Influencer: Lifetime Achievement Award category for her outstanding work in Colorado.
The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) recognizes individuals who challenge traditional methods and use technology and information to create a better future for healthcare. Lt. Governor Primavera was selected for her dedication to advocating for accessible and affordable healthcare, a cause that is close to her heart as a four-time cancer survivor.
In addition to her personal commitment, Lt. Governor Primavera was recognized for her leadership of Colorado's Office of eHealth Innovation (OeHI). This office is responsible for coordinating health information technology (IT) funding, strategy, and policy in the state. Under her direction, OeHI released the 2025 Colorado Health IT Roadmap, which is a patient-centered and community-driven plan developed through collaboration with 67 organizations in eight languages across urban and rural communities.

One of OeHI's most significant achievements under Lt. Governor Primavera's leadership is the creation of the Colorado Social Health Information Exchange (CoSHIE). This network securely connects physical, behavioral, and social health information such as housing and food security. It also allows patients to control their data sharing across care teams, reducing administrative burden for providers and improving the overall care experience.
Furthermore, OeHI is working towards a more connected Colorado by supporting rural communities through their Community Analytics Platform (CAP). Managed by the Colorado Community Managed Care Network (CCMCN), this platform provides real-time analytics for rural communities across the state. By expanding data connectivity through CAP, rural health centers can streamline workflows and utilize actionable insights to improve the quality of patient care while reducing provider burden.

The HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award is a testament to Lt. Governor Primavera's unwavering dedication to improving healthcare in Colorado through technology and collaboration.
