Colorado: Governor Polis Signs Bills Into Law

DENVER ~ Denver - In a move to support victim-survivors of crimes and improve the state's youth advisory council, Governor Polis signed six bills into law today.
The first bill, SB26-095, was sponsored by Senator Mike Weissman and Representatives Meg Froelich and Jenny Willford. It aims to provide measures that will assist victim-survivors of crimes.
Next, SB26-143, sponsored by President James Coleman, Senator Katie Wallace, and Representatives Jenny Willford and Lorena García, will rename the Colorado Youth Advisory Council Review Committee.
SB26-144, which was sponsored by Senate Assistant Minority Leader Lisa Frizell and Senator William Lindstedt, along with House Assistant Minority Leader Ty Winter and Representative Sean Camacho, seeks to modify property tax lien sales treasurer deeds and fees.

The fourth bill signed into law was SB26-158. This bill was sponsored by Senators Mike Weissman and Matt Ball, as well as Representatives Michael Carter and Cecelia Espenoza. It aims to improve the youthful offender early parole procedure.
SB26-159 was also signed into law today. Sponsored by Senators Mike Weissman and Julie Gonzales, along with Representatives Javier Mabrey and Matthew Martinez, this bill will modify the inmate earned time formula for sentences to the Department of Corrections.
Lastly, HB26-1095 was signed into law. This bill was sponsored by Representatives Larry Don Suckla and Kenny Nguyen, as well as Senators Rod Pelton and William Lindstedt. It will allow for digital publication of legal notices.
