DENVER ~ Governor Polis of Colorado has signed two bipartisan bills into law today, aimed at supporting the state's agricultural community and transitioning coal-dependent communities.
The first bill, SB26-010, was sponsored by Senators Dylan Roberts and Byron Pelton, and Representatives Julie McCluskie and Karen McCormick. It aims to save money for farmers, ranchers, and rural communities by redefining agricultural property tax definitions. Governor Polis emphasized the importance of the agriculture industry in Colorado, stating that it drives local economies, provides fresh products to residents, and serves as responsible stewards of the state's lands.
