City of Long Beach Facilities and Services Schedule for Juneteenth Holiday, Friday, June 19

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the nation prepares to celebrate Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, 2026, the City of Long Beach has announced its plans for observing the holiday. In a press release issued today, the city outlined which facilities and services will be open and closed on this important day.
According to the press release, all City parks and trails will be open on Friday, providing residents with ample opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Additionally, El Dorado East Regional Park will also be open for visitors. Fire stations and lifeguard stations will remain operational, as well as Long Beach Airport.
For any animal-related emergencies, Long Beach Animal Care Services will have a 24/7 emergency services field after-hours line available at (562) 570-7387. The main police station front desk will also be open for any inquiries or assistance needed.
Marina offices at Alamitos Bay Marina and Shoreline Marina will be open for business on Friday. Gas services dispatch can be reached at (562) 570-2140 for any emergency calls, while water/sewer dispatch can be contacted at (562) 570-2390.
However, there are some closures to note on Juneteenth. The Billie Jean King Main Library and all branch libraries will be closed for the day. While library offices may not be accessible physically, digital resources will still be available 24/7 for patrons to utilize.

Other closures include BizCare Hotline (562-570-4BIZ), Building and Safety services including permit center operations and inspections, City Hall offices and commercial services typically available there such as utility customer service and parking citations.
The City Prosecutor's Office, Code Enforcement services, Economic Development & Opportunity's Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult and Youth Career Services Centers, Energy Resources Offices, Fire Headquarters including Support Services and Fire Prevention & Operations departments will also remain closed on Friday.
In addition, the Health Department and its facilities, Homeless Services Outreach Line (562-570-4672), Housing Authority, Long Beach Airport Administration Offices, Long Beach Animal Care Services and spcaLA, Long Beach Utilities Offices, Mobile Access Centers, Neighborhood Resource Center, Parks, Recreation and Marine programs and community park facilities will also be closed.
The Clean Team will not be conducting any oversized items or special collections pick-ups on Friday. Refuse and Recycling Administrative Offices will also be closed for the day. Special Events and Filming Offices will not be operational either.
