EntSun News/11093359
Evansville, Ind.  –  May 28, 2026 – The City of Evansville today announced the schedule for its 2026 Summer Block-by-Block Neighborhood Cleanup events. Now entering its second full year, the 2026 Block-by-Block program will continue to bring city services directly into neighborhoods, strengthening connections between residents and the resources available to them.

Summer 2026 Block-by-Block Schedule:

All events will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Friday, May 29 –  Jacobsville Neighborhood
  • Friday, June 16 – Tepe Park

"We know that beautiful and safe neighborhoods are a critical component of any thriving community," said Mayor Stephanie Terry. "Through our Block-by-Block initiative, we're working alongside neighbors, city departments, and community partners to invest in areas that have historically been overlooked and strengthen our neighborhoods one block at a time."

During each Block-by-Block event, city departments, nonprofit partners, and volunteers will work together on activities such as minor street repairs, lawn and weed maintenance, litter removal, tree, and code enforcement follow-up. City officials will also go door-to-door to connect with residents and share information about available city services.

The effort is part of Mayor Stephanie Terry's broader Neighborhood Revitalization initiative, focused on restoring pride in place and ensuring all Evansville residents live in safe, vibrant, and welcoming neighborhoods. Since launching the Block-by-Block initiative in 2024, the city has collected more than 20,000 tons of trash across seven neighborhoods and has seen significant reductions in trash and weed violations.

Community members interested in volunteering can register by filling out the volunteer form at www.evansvillegov.org/block.
