City of Columbia to host second Community Summit March 14
EntSun News/11086275
(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia is gearing up for its second annual Community Summit, set to take place on Saturday, March 14 at City Hall. The event, which will run from 9 a.m. to noon, aims to provide residents with a platform to share their ideas and opinions on shaping the city's future.
The Community Summit is a free and family-friendly event that welcomes residents to drop in at any time throughout the morning. Attendees can explore interactive booths and learn about current and future initiatives being undertaken by the city. This year's summit will feature fresh content, ensuring there is always something new for attendees to discover.
The booths at the summit will be aligned with the five strategic goals outlined in the City's Strategic Plan. This will allow residents to not only learn more about current city programs but also provide valuable feedback on their priorities.
At each booth, residents will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on major city services, potential improvements, and other important topics. They can also use "CoMo Bucks," play money provided by the city, to vote for which areas they believe should receive additional funding. This input will help inform decisions made by City staff and City Council in the future. Children are also encouraged to participate and share their feedback.

He added that "We took the input received and implemented changes and new initiatives from that event, and I look forward to doing the same with the feedback we receive at this year's event."
In addition to providing valuable input on shaping their community's future, attendees can also enjoy entertainment from various local groups such as Jabberwocky Studios, TRYPS Children's Theatre, and Compass Music. Snacks will be provided throughout the morning as well.
To make attending easier for residents, metered parking enforcement will be suspended on March 14 and parking garages will be free. Those who share additional feedback at the event will also have the chance to receive free Community Summit swag (while supplies last) and be entered into a giveaway for one of two gift baskets.
