City of Columbia plans Juneteenth applicant workshop

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is offering an opportunity for local community members to apply for grant funding to support Juneteenth events, exhibits, and educational programs. A workshop will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Walton Building, located at 300 South Providence Road, to provide information and assistance for interested applicants.

Residents who are interested in planning a Juneteenth event in 2026 and want to learn more about the grant funding process are encouraged to attend the workshop. This will be a chance to ask questions and receive guidance on completing the application.

Starting on Wednesday, Jan. 28, the application for funds will be available online at CoMo.gov. It includes general guidelines and instructions for completing the application. For those who prefer a paper application, they can be obtained at City Hall or the Walton Building/Convention and Visitors Bureau office.

Completed applications can be emailed to a new email address or hand-delivered or mailed to the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau by Friday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. The address is 300 S. Providence Road, Columbia, MO 65203.
